Privacy Policy

SourceStream is a Chrome extension and companion web service operated by SuperCala LLC ("we," "our"). This policy describes what information SourceStream collects, why, how we use it, and the choices you have. It applies to the SourceStream Chrome extension and to the SourceStream service hosted at sourcestream.supercala.ai.

1. What SourceStream does

SourceStream lets you save articles and YouTube videos you choose, optionally subscribe to whole websites or YouTube channels, and receive a periodic email digest summarising the content you've collected. That single purpose drives every data practice below.

2. Information we collect

  • Email address. You provide an email address so we can send your newsletter digests. Each report you create can use the same address or a different one.
  • Content you explicitly save. When you click the SourceStream button on a page, the extension extracts and sends to our service: the page URL, page title, author and publish date when available, and the article body text (or the YouTube video transcript and channel information for YouTube pages). We only receive content from pages you explicitly choose to save.
  • Sources you subscribe to. If you subscribe to a YouTube channel or website, we store the channel/site identifier and check it on a recurring schedule for new posts so they can be added to your digest.
  • Report configuration. Names of your reports, delivery schedules, and the list of items and subscriptions belonging to each report.
  • Locally stored preferences. The extension stores its settings (such as whether collation mode is on, your API key, and your reports list) in Chrome's storage.local and storage.sync. storage.sync syncs that data across the Chrome browsers you are signed into.

3. Information we do not collect

  • We do not collect your browsing history or a list of pages you visit.
  • We do not log your clicks, keystrokes, scroll position, or mouse movement.
  • We do not collect health, financial, payment, or authentication information.
  • We do not collect precise location data.
  • We do not read or transmit page content from sites you have not explicitly chosen to save from or subscribe to.

4. How we use information

We use the information above only to operate SourceStream's single purpose: producing and delivering your personalised newsletter digest. Specifically, we use it to:

  • Generate per-source summaries and a synthesised digest of new content;
  • Email those digests to the address you provided;
  • Show you, on the SourceStream dashboard, the items and subscriptions you've saved;
  • Detect and skip duplicate captures.

5. Sharing and third parties

We do not sell your data. We do not transfer your data to third parties for advertising, marketing, profiling, or any purpose unrelated to delivering SourceStream.

We use a small number of service providers strictly to operate the product:

  • Railway — hosting and infrastructure for the SourceStream backend.
  • OpenAI — generating per-source summaries from the content you save. Page content you save is sent to OpenAI's API for summarisation only and is not used to train models per OpenAI's API data policy.
  • Email delivery provider — sending your digest emails to your inbox.

6. Storage and retention

Your reports, saved items, and subscriptions are kept while your account exists so future digests can reference them. You can delete a report at any time from the extension or the dashboard, which removes the saved items and subscriptions associated with it. To delete your entire account and all associated data, email support@supercala.ai.

7. Security

Traffic between the extension and our service is encrypted with HTTPS. Your data is stored in our backend database with access restricted to the SourceStream service. We authenticate extension requests using a per-user API key.

8. Children

SourceStream is not directed to children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

9. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as the product evolves. Material changes will be reflected by updating the "Last updated" date at the top of this page.
